Papaji's Birthday!

Dear All,

Once again I want to draw your attention to Papaji’s birthday, taking place October 13, 2008. This is a Monday, and on this day there is Satsang in Karlsruhe at 7 pm. For many of you Karlsruhe is not so far from the place you live and it would be nice if you could come so we can be together in silence, peace and love.

Please tell the sangha in your town about Papaji’s birthday. Maybe you can drive together for coming to this very special Satsang.

You gladly can honor Papaji with flowers and candies.

With greetings from my heart,

Rita

Last Weekend I paid 50 Euros for 3 days in love, peace and happiness. 50 Euros for beautyful hours enjoying the greatful silence of the master, beeing together with lovely people, laughing, dancing, having deep conversations ... do you really think 50 Euros is too much for that?? I m pretty sure that you are willing to spend more money for one evening in a pub!!

    dear shame on you,

people are identified with money in a unnatural way. whatever you may pay for real satsang with a realised master is good for you. if you pay 1000,- 2000,- or 500.000,-€, pounds rupies or whatever. the precious being who must become free in his lifetime is sooner or later willed to give everything for the master. EVERYTHING. be willed to give everything you have. also your identification with money. we will become thankfull that he took us our stupidity. its only for you. only for you.

    i'm screaming for freedom.

The Light in your Eyes

I just want to thank you for the time I got to share with you. The eternal light that shines from you. I only wish I had had the courage to sing it to you. I made a song and realized afterwords it was all about you..

" I've seen the light in you're eyes, outshine tomorrow.."...."you're bringing me back from the darkest night.."

Thank you for loving me. I remember it now as some inner trauma appears and wants to scare me away from love.

I'll never leave again. Never. I'll let it hurt, it'll pass. If i run now I'll never be free.
I feel so grateful for the Sangha too. They showed such love. Helped me so I could stay with you.

I like to show my respect and come to Satsang as soon as possible.

For you're endless love: I Love you. I trust you. I need you.

I hope to see you soon again.
Shivarocker Pethra.

Blessing retreat Sommerlust

The retreat Sommerlust took place in Reith near Kitzbühel in Austria, July 30 until August 10, 2008, in the Biohotel Florian. About 30 people joined in, participating this very special retreat.

Satsang with Sri Madhukar was twice a day. Blessing Satsangs in the presence of the Master. In his clarity, his goodness and his love. Satsangs in silence and peace, with dialogues, music, dance and laughter.

The Satsang room was located in a house next to the main building of the hotel, where it was quiet and silent. A big Satsang room, with view to the meadows and woods, always lovingly decorated with beautiful fresh flowers.

The participants who stayed in rooms towards the mountain side in the main building had a breathtaking view over the huge rocks of the Wild Kaiser. And in a separate house, only a couple of meters distance from there, Krishna played his flute for the 10 women sleeping in the dormitory. In the mornings, very softly and gently, beautiful mantra singing sounded there (from the group of Shiva-Yoga people, who where staying there at the same time).

The meals were of excellent fresh vegetarian food, starting with a breakfast buffet of an amazing wide variety of offerings, and ending with delicious dessert at dinner.
The hotel has a very cozy, rustic styled dining room. Long time after the staff had gone to bed the retreat participants still sat together there, enjoying delicious wine, talking and laughing together, often until late in the night.

For having the meals everybody sat outside on the terrace, enjoying the view over the forests and mountains. Sitting there in the mornings, having a cup of coffee and watching the fog arising from the valley was a wonderful start into the day. Or walking up the hill, in the early morning before breakfast, up to this place with that gorgeous sunrise view over the Wild Kaiser. And meeting Wawi there, just like meeting her two years ago at the same time of the day up on Shivapuri in Nepal, during the retreat Buddhas Grace. And pointing to the Wild Kaiser she saying: This is little Himalayas for me!

Mostly, after morning Satsang, the Master had lunch together with the sangha: big joy of the heart, brightly shining happiness!

The second Satsang of the day took place in the afternoon and sometimes also in the evening. So there was enough time for going swimming in the lakes which are near to the retreat place, going on excursions in the surroundings or visiting the world famous village of Kitzbühel, only 10 minutes driving distance from Reith. Kitzbühel is very attractive also at nighttime, it has nice bars playing good music, inviting for dancing and celebrating.
During the time of the retreat was a big festival in Kitzbühel, and many of the retreat participants went there. The center of the village was closed for traffic, and everywhere on the streets was music and dancing all night long.

One of the highlights of the retreat was the hiking tour with the Master up to the Kälberalm. Taking gondolas up the mountain, having coffee together at the summit station before the tour started, and then hiking through the woods towards the mountain top, with the Master leading the way. Hiking in great nature, narrow trails through the forest and wider paths further up, walking through magnificent mountain landscapes. Arriving the top, everybody took rest sitting on the terrace of the Kälberalm, a tavern that served beverages and food. Being with the beloved Master and the beautiful people of the sangha on top of the mountain in clear brightly shining sunshine amidst a gorgeous mountain world, drinking refreshing wheat beer, having a delicious meal with cheese and bread, singing and dancing to the music the tavern people were playing - perfect happiness!

One evening everybody went to have a big party together in a nearby restaurant. Good music, dancing and celebration! Glowing joy of the heart because the Master was present also! Celebrating with the wonderful people of the sangha. What a blessing!

Being with the Master, being in Satsang, being with the sangha, participating this very blissful retreat – what a blessing!

Om Namah Shivaya

The Meaning of 'Om Namah Shivaya' :

It means "I bow to Shiva." Shiva is the supreme reality, the inner Self. It is the name given to consciousness that dwells in all. Shiva is the name of your true identity- your self.

According to Hindu mythology there are three Gods who run this creation. The Brahma - who creates the universe, the Vishnu - who preserves the Universe and the Shiva- who in the end destroys the universe. Among the three deities, Shiva, though considered as destroyer, also symbolize the - the inner self which remains intact even after everything ends.

In this mantra the chanter (one who repeats the mantra) bow to Shiva- his true self.

Om Namah Shivay is a very powerful mantra. It has been said about this mantra that if this mantra vibrates continually in your heart, then you have no need to perform austerities, to meditate, or to practise yoga. To repeat this mantra you need no rituals or ceremonies, nor must you repeat it at an auspicious time or in a particular place." This mantra is free of all restrictions. It can be repeated by anyone, young or old, rich or poor and no matter what state a person is in, it will purify him.

***

Ramana Maharshi says in one of his stotras about Arunachala (Shiva): "I gave "me", and I got YOU in return, so who of us is the intelligent one?"

***

Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi:

“Arunachala is the heart of the world, is Shiva himself.
As we identify ourselves with the body,
so Shiva, the supreme truth, identifies himself with the mountain.
It happens out of love for those who are seeking to realize Him.“

***

Madhukar:

“Yes, this mountain is Shiva himself.
When a human being can be enlightened, why not also a mountain?

Each one who has been there realizes
that even though he finds a red geological formation in a plain with paddy fields, it is much more a mystical place.

Bhagavan is still there!

This phenomenon of silent presence is described as soundless sound.
I would say: vibrationless vibration.“

***

„When Arunachala pulled me towards him, filled my mind in silence and I came close to him, I saw: he means absolute stillness”.

***

“Arunachala is within and not outside. The Self Is Arunachala.“

***

„For the human eye he is only a shape out of earth and rock, but his true form is divine light.“

***

“The secret of the mountain is the secret of the Self.“

***

“Arunachala thou dost root out the ego of those who meditate on thee in
the heart, oh Arunachala."

***
Arunachala Siva!
Arunachala Siva!
Arunachala Siva!

Arunachala!

I was very lucky that I trusted my Master (Sri H.W.L. Poonjaji/Papaji).

I trusted the man who did not sell another religion, philosophy or teaching.

He was just emanating Freedom!

Freedom can never pollute you

because Freedom is Freedom.

Everything else pollutes you.

Everything else puts weight on your shoulders.

But Freedom can never pollute you!

Madhukar

After a summer break Madhukar is starting his autumn retreats and Satsangs with

the beautiful retreat in Switzerland:

Lightness of Being

September 22 - 26, 2008

Wilderswil, Switzerland

Info: Renate +41 79 8 18 89 89

dlds@madhukar.org

Some highlights of the summer 2008

Madhukar at the Rainbow-Spirit-Festival 2008, the 14th Rainbow-Spirit-Festival:

The Rainbow-Spirit-Festival takes place every year in the cure city Baden-Baden. The beautiful city center is located in a park scenery and provides the perfect framework for this event, which is one of the biggest spiritual festivals in Europe.

The response Madhukar is receiving also in Baden-Baden at the Rainbow-Spirit-Festival is growing from year to year. The festival gives the opportunity not only meeting him in Satsang, but also to experience the direct contact with him, what makes the inner silence stronger. That could be felt especially at one of the real concert highlights, when Madhukar came with some friends and members of the sangha to the concert of Krishna Das, who became a kind of star in this scene. Madhukar, who likes playing the music of Krishna Das in his meetings (Yoga of Silence), intensified the silence at the concert. It was clearly perceptible how the energy was rising when he entered the room. Peace, beauty, joy and love were tangible and could be experienced, and naturally there was silence in the music!

At the lovingly set up and attended information desk at the festival, Madhukar gave the meaning of his name a very representative expression: the visitors received a glass of honey to indicate the sweetness of the master (the meaning of the name Madhukar: sweet like honey).

This was also the place to meet him directly and personally, and Madhukar insisted on being present there on three days. Again and again it is amazing with how much love, knowledge and humor he meets each single one, also there in Baden-Baden, regardless of knowing the person or not.

Madhukar also gave two Satsangs which took place in the Auditorium of the festival place. At the first Satsang on Saturday there have been about 500 people there, and together with Madhukar they immersed into a long and wonderful deep silence. After the phase of silence, the questions of the visitors were met by facetious and “enlightened” answers. Partly the hall was bursting with laughter, and silence, peace and love were perceptible all the time. Both Satsangs have been filmed (http://www.jetzt-tv.net/index.php?id=madhukar) and pictures can be seen on slide show under: www.madhukar.org/happiness

Guru Purnima 2008

For the first time Guru Purnima was celebrated around Madhukarji on 18.7.08.

It was a great evening for all of us to express our thankfulness to Sri Madhukar, the Master lineage and being in love and grace.

The opening ceremony went on according to the Indian tradition how to approach and honour the Guru. First Madhukarji’s feet were carefully washed with water, sandalwood powder and rose leaves. After that everyone could approach to bow down and hang a flower chain around Madhukarji’s neck or put flowers at his feet.

As the tradition says this is the one day of the year that every devotee can come in front of the Guru’s feet and offer flowers or presents. It is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to show the deep and auspicious thankfulness that one is longing for to express to the beloved Guru and Guru lineage.

A huge photo of Master Poonjaji (Papaji) was hanging above Madhukarjis head, and Sri Ramana Maharshi was very present as well.

Mantras were sung during the ceremony, some by everybody together, some beautifully sung by Arati, our musical talent, supported by musicians with instruments.

Madhukarji almost drowned in flowers which was a beautiful sight waking some lovingly laughter.

There is a fantastic colourful and describing slideshow of pictures from Darshana’s camera to be seen on www.madhukar.org/happiness. Also of the dancing afterwards to Sukkhadas’ music.

The event was loved by all and will be a tradition for us to enjoy every year. Next year it will be in Toscana/Italy, so please already put a cross in your agenda. It is not to be missed.

Madhukar in Sweden

After one year break from going to Sweden Madhukar went again to a beautiful retreat where devotees as well as new participants were there to enjoy. It is very heart warming that so many people in Sweden are attracted by truth! Welcome and thank you Anders for organizing!

Golden Buddha

I am greeting you, Golden Buddha!

I call you so, because I have seen you in a such way in Moscow. In front of me was exactly the Golden Buddha.

All world always possessed stability, when I was with my father, when I was near the ocean. It was the same when I was with you. There was the feeling of familiarity and truthful affinity.

Now I know that you do exist. I will never forget you. And I will always be happy to meet you again.

Now you are my soul.

The Ashtavakra Gita - Book of all Books - Heart of Awareness - The Essence of Advaita - First Chapter

The Self

O Master,
Tell me how to find
Detachment, wisdom, and freedom!
Child,
If you wish to be free,
Shun the poison of the senses.

Seek the nectar of truth,
Of love and forgiveness,
Simplicity and happiness.

Earth, fire and water,
The wind and the sky -
You are none of these.

If you wish to be free,
Know you are the Self,
The witness of all these,
The heart of awareness.

Set your body aside.
Sit in your own awareness.

You will at once be happy,
Forever still,
Forever free.

You have no caste.
No duties bind you.

Formless and free,
Beyond the reach of the senses,
The witness of all things.

So be happy!

Right or wrong,
Joy and sorrow,
These are of the mind only.
They are not yours.

It is not really you
Who acts or enjoys.

You are everywhere,
Forever free.

Forever and truly free,
The single witness of all things.

But if you see yourself as separate,
Then you are bound.

"I do this. I do that."

The big black snake of selfishness
Has bitten you!

"I do nothing."
This is the nectar of faith,
So drink and be happy!

Know you are one,
Pure awareness.

With the fire of this conviction,
Burn down the forest of ignorance.

Free yourself from sorrow,
And be happy.

Be happy!
For you are joy, unbounded joy.

You are awareness itself.

Just as a coil of rope
Is mistaken for a snake,
So you are mistaken for the world.

If you think you are free,
You are free.

If you think you are bound,
You are bound.

For the saying is true:
You are what you think.

The Self looks like the world.

But this is just an illusion.

The Self is everywhere.

One.
Still.
Free.
Perfect.

The witness of all things,
Awareness
Without action, clinging or desire.

Meditate on the Self.
One without two,
Exalted awareness.

Give up the illusion
Of the separate self.

Give up the feeling,
Within or without,
That you are this or that.

My child,
Because you think you are the body,
For a long time you have been bound.

Know you are pure awareness.

With this knowledge as your sword
Cut through your chains.

And be happy!

For you are already free,
Without action or flaw,
Luminous and bright.

You are bound
Only by the habit of meditation.

Your nature is pure awareness.

You are flowing in all things,
And all things are flowing in you.

But beware
The narrowness of the mind!

You are always the same,
Unfathomable awareness,
Limitless and free,
Serene and unperturbed.

Desire only your own awareness.

Whatever takes form is false.
Only the formless endures.

When you understand
The truth of this teaching,
You will not be born again.

For God is infinite,
Within the body and without,
Like a mirror,
And the image in a mirror.

As the air is everywhere,
Flowing around a pot
And filling it,
So God is everywhere,
Filling all things
And flowing through them forever.

Divine Paradise

I was and I am still very happy about his "invitation" to the retreat DIVINE PARADISE
Yet I was too shy to applicate myself, because I never know about the working plans of my orchestra.
Now I just trust that everything will be organized and will take
its place.

Diving into the Krishna blue ocean of Grace.
Swimming with the colourfull fishs of Leela.
Singing and laughing in extacy with the exotic birds.
Being warmed by the sun of the inner burning wish for freedom.
Drinking the divine cocktail of Sat-Chit-Ananda.
Eating the sweet fruits of Love.
Dancing in silence with the ocean breeze.

What more is needed?
Of course I love to be with Madhukarji in this divine retreat!

In devotion,
Arati.
